Spotteds’ spots make him itchy

So by now you know, our boy Hercules has allergy issues to boot! So much so, I joke around that Spotteds’ spots make him itchy. I don’t know about you, but all of our animals have their names and then they have their nicknames. Lol So Hercules’ nickname is Spotted, because of all his spots. And he loves it when you call him that. He gets all happy about it!

So we have tried quite a few different things with him and nothing has really helped. So the whole family and I went to our local All Island Pet Supply pet store gave them my low down of our poor boy. They recommended a new food that I actually haven’t tried yet!

Legends skin formula, even had an image of a poor dog that resembles ours all red and from the looks of it very itchy. Then another picture of that same dog all fur grown back and looking a lot more peaceful.  Honestly, I was so happy to see that and hear all they good things they had to say about it. So here we go another food! But this time I’ve incorporated the benadryl, zyrtec, fish oil, and Jax and Daisy’s shampoo and lotion.

At first he seemed a little pinker then we would like him to be. I honestly thought here we go again a food and some meds that we just won’t see any results with.

We were going on a trip about a month in to this, maybe a little less. I got everything together to make it super easy for family to take care of him. He slowly started to lick himself more so I had to put the cone back on him and have them leave it on him when they weren’t here. Hercules is relentless definitely OCD about the licking and chewing that he does.

Well when we got back he was depressed that we were gone and not doing well in the itchy department. I quickly bathed him the day we got back and the following day. Also, took the cone off and watched his every move. He slowly became more of his normal self and the licking and chewing subsided. Actually, ran out of zyrtec for him but he seemed to be doing well so figured see how it goes.

Had to finally bath him again a week later you could tell he needed it. But honestly he hasn’t been licking or chewing himself like he was and his skin looks normal. Or I should say what is normal for him. Overall he’s doing great! Finally, we actually had a plan and it worked. Now we will keep up with it and see what happens.
